A Vizsla-adjacent problem: velcro, athletic, escape-prone
Weimaraners share a lot with Vizslas — velcro temperament, hunting drive, short thin coat, cold sensitivity — but they're bigger (55–90 lb) and often more prone to actual separation anxiety. The 42" or 48" crate fits most adults. Central crate placement is essential; a Weim in an isolated room will develop stress behaviors quickly.
This breed is also escape-prone. Weims figure out latches, dig at crate pans, and can bend cheap wire crates when panicked. Heavy-duty construction, two-point latches, and — most importantly — addressing the anxiety rather than upgrading the crate are the real fixes.
